What you guys think is the best forum? I tried it all, personally, I like MyBB most of the free software, and IP.Board of the pay software.
(no idea were to host it without paying a bucketload tough... I usually use freehosts like Freeweb7 or Byet)




This is PHPBB1, PHPbb2 and PHPbb3 are way better (no offense ) (Checkitout at www.freeforums.org)

This is phpbb 2, the themes basic though.

Wanted somthing simple. I'd agree phpbb is best as its been handeling logins for mega for along time with few problems and theres lots of info about moding it.

Doesnt look like PHPbb2 lol, it seems kind of... Stripped down

I like PHPbb2, but the problem is that its very hackable and modding can be a PAIN (Unless ofcourse you got an all-overwhelming server :p) I used it for 3 years tough

I belief IPBoard is better but it costs alot of money, I belief its a coders wet dream to use Ipboard :-) (its VERY handy to use as basics for a site)

I prefer MyBB above PHPbb because its quicker to use. I use MyBB for sites I make which are mainly based upon site itself, PHPbb for sites for other people (its a faster code :p) And IPB For community-based sites :-)

I like The megalomania one pbb2 i think

Megas currently based on phpbb 3 but thats only been this round it was 2 before. This theme is def phpbb 2 because the first version of mega's theme was based on it or the admin cp to be more specific.

I think it is stripped down a bit since its a free forum host. I tried an invision one first but that made me log in 3 times for some reason so i gave up.

invision is to be quite honest absolutely terrible lol

You should try FreeForums.org, nice people, has a donating function (for your members, and the money goes into a "Treasure Chest" From where you could buy the paid version). Has PHPBb2 and 3, lots of styles, several mods and nothing stripped down :-)

And Invision PowerBoard isnt terrible at all.. If you say that you probably havent used it correctly :p


I have it running at a free host atm, it is fast easy and has lots of features and amazing mods (you can actually turn it into a game within a minute ..) Members also have thier private portal and the moderating functions are easy

It costs a bucketload but its definently worth it :-)

I used PHPbb3, and IPB, and I tell you, IPB can do LOADS more, is LOADS faster and is LOADS easier :-)
